Rooriz Tunisian Sardine
Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Tunis time)
We always have stock of frozen sardine fillets. New frozen batches are ready with full quality analyses, and we ship them by sea.
Tunisian sardines (Sardina pilchardus) from the Mediterranean are highly valued for their delicate size, mild flavor, and balanced oil content, making them ideal for fresh markets, premium retail, and high-quality seafood products. In comparison, Moroccan and Portuguese sardines (Sardina pilchardus and Sardina sprattus) from the Atlantic are larger and richer, well-suited for recipes requiring a more robust flavor.
For importers: we handle large quantities through an international Letter of Credit (LC). The goods are shipped directly from Tunisia to your final destination in refrigerated containers, always well-frozen and at competitive prices. Customs formalities must be managed by the importer.
For our frozen sardines, the first step to ensure superior quality is maintaining a low histamine level. Our fishing partners immediately keep the sardines at temperatures below 0°C after catch. The fish then go directly into the freezing tunnel and are stored in refrigerated facilities until shipment. The main risk in sardines is histamine, which is carefully controlled. We always maintain full traceability of the catch with our fishing partners, sourced from rich sardine fishing zones and a clean, healthy environment.,
Our fillets are made by hand, not by machines, because sardines are very delicate. At 0°C, we carefully fillet the fish, which then goes directly into the freezing tunnel IQF Sardine Fillets. After that, we do the packaging and store the fillets at the proper temperature. With this freezing process, the fillets remain firm and not mushy, ensuring that the final customer will appreciate the high quality.
